William T. Tett operated a town garage on the main street in McCallsburg, Iowa starting in 1920.  In 1937, he added Oliver tractors and sold his first tractor for $737. In addition to Oliver Sales and Service, Tett added New Idea in 1953. Tett was known for carrying a big stock of repair parts and strived to offer good service. William and his wife Pearl operated the business along with their son Harlan. "Bill" was known for taking about anything in on trade for an Oliver. In the early days, he would take in horses with harnesses on trade and then load them on trucks to resell at the Waverly Sale Barn. On the return trip, the trucks would pickup new tractors from the Oliver plant in Charles City for his dealership. William passed away in May 1958 at the age of 74. Harlan operated the business for a year or two before it closed around 1960.
